Proceeds from profits of this coin sale will be donated to Schindler Entertainment who self- funded production of a documentary honoring the 8 brave operatives who participated. 7 made the supreme sacrifice with just one survivor Mick Dennis MM.
When self-funding the “tribute film” Schindler Directors were not motivated by the need for profit. John and Nataliya Schindler together with a team of mostly unpaid volunteers participated energetically with the sole aim of making Australians aware of the brave and “selfless” deeds of these young Australian ‘unsung heroes'.
The Schindlers were joined by this literal “army” of mostly volunteer cast and crew including a number of senior Australian film industry professionals and veterans donating their services given the nature of the cause. Due to Industry marketing protocol the documentary cannot be screened to the public at present. Consequently the initial release of the documentary will be a private event for family members, donors and those involved in the making of the documentary. Schindler’s most recent documentary the 2015 production KNOWN UNTO GOD was acquired by the HISTORY Channel in Australia and New Zealand and selected for screening at the GI Film Festival in the USA. The standard of this current documentary OPERATION COPPER will be equal to if not better than KNOWN UNTO GOD. In is therefore hoped in the future that the film will be acquired by a broadcaster for public release.
John Schindler has been trying to recoup some of the many costs incurred over a number of years whilst making this documentary which started in 2013. Whilst hopeful the documentary may be bought by a broadcaster John is unable at present to specify who this will be. The documentary will be available for public viewing in the future in addition to broadcast however from past experience the cost of selling the documentary will in all probability not cover the actual costs incurred by Schindler Entertainment over the past 12 years in creating this documentary. By manufacturing these coins JR Medals is providing a way in which to help Schindler Entertainment fund some of the costs incurred in telling this important story of 8 brave Australia soldiers. By acquiring this medallion you will also be helping.
